ME

At the end of 2010 I walked out of Art School wearing an aqua green vintage Pan Am flight attendant dress, sporting a bad hair style and demonstrating questionable makeup choices. I also managed to leave with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in sculpture, minor in photography, and a new found appreciation for the human form. In 2013 I decided that I liked people and I liked their faces, so I enrolled in some makeup units, somehow got a job at M.A.C, and as they say the rest is history. Five years on I still work for M.A.C Cosmetics as the Retail Manager in Hobart, teach makeup at Papillon Health & Beauty Academy and freelance. Hanging around the makeup industry has enabled me to keep my skills and knowledge up to date and not go moldy at the back of the cupboard. Over the years my skills (thankfully) have developed and my understanding and appreciation of the human form, strengthened. I am inspired by all styles of artistry and love experiencing the vast professional environments makeup artistry has to offer. My artistry style is just as much about texture, form and colour as it is about the person behind the makeup. My art-form and philosophy is about working with what’s already there but also having a bit of fun and creative expression along the way.
